Personal Profile

Yoshie is an experienced, fully qualified Aromatherapist, Massage Therapist, Certified Infant Massage Instructor and Usui Reiki Practioner.

She is from Tokyo, Japan.
Since coming to England in 1993 she has pursued an interest in complementary therapy while also working as a freelance journalist.
For the past ten years, she has studied at the different colleges and got qualifications, such as, ITEC diploma in Anatom, Phisiology & Massage and IFA diploma in Holistic Aromatherapy.
She also has worked for several clinics in London.Her massage blends eastern and western influences and techniques, combining elements of Aromatherapy Massage, Swedish Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Shiatsu and Reiki.

Yoshie is also a Micheline Arcier aromatherapis.
She has been trained in techniques of Micheline  Arcier, who is a pioneer of signature aromatherapie massage, at her clinic in Knightsbridge, London.

Yoshie is a mother and  she has firsthand experience of the benefits of pregnancy massage and infant massage.

Infant massage is an ancient traditional craft used in many cultures. It is becoming very popular again in many countries.

This infant massage course is based on the IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage) course syllabus developed by Vimala Schneider McClure, the author of the book “Infant Massage”. The massage techniques are simple, easy to learn and fun as well.

Vimala experienced traditional Indian massage when she was working as a nurse in India. She established unique infant massage techniques that combined Indian massage with Swedish massage, yoga, and reflexology.

She founded the IAIM in 1981 and since then more than 2000 CIMI (Certified Infant Massage Instructor) have taught infant massage all over the world.

The purpose of the IAIM is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community.

About the Classes

The course takes place once a week over four consecutive weeks. Each session takes about one hour. Classes can be attended as part of group or private lesson can be booked.

It is OK for babies to cry, move about or wee/poo during the class. You are encouraged to nurse, cuddle, stand and attend to any needs the baby may have. The classes are for the babies!

This course is suitable for babies from 6 weeks to nine months of age (or crawling).

Although you can start infant massage at any age, it is best to start as early as possible. If you want to start massage for an older baby, private lessons can be arranged.

♦ Please bring one or two big towels and your usual baby stuff (nappies, milk, toys, etc.).

♦ Please wear comfortable clothes. We will massage babies on the floor. You may want to bring a cushion.

♦ Specially blended massage oil will be provided at the first class.

Class Venue

Yoshie will visit your house and teach how to massage your babies.
It can be a group (i.e. you and other mums) or private lessons.

Alternatively, you can arrange to have a class at the therapy room “avalon holistic healing”.
